Making Didgeridoos

Last night we all learned how to and made our own Didgeridoos! Turns out it is pretty easy to make and play. Not that I can play it well but at least I can make some noise with it now. As probably the oldest wind instrument in the world they are traditionally made of termite hollowed wood or something similar. We used PVC pipe which makes it very easy and more durable, the differences in humidity etc when traveling can easily crack a wooden one so this is a good choice if we want to take them home with us. The basic idea is to cut the pipe to the right length based on what pitch you want, (usually pretty low). Then add a beeswax mouthpiece to make it smaller and seal on your mouth. We are still working on decorating them so they don't just look like PVC.
